How do I access full text in Google Scholar?

Answer

Google Scholar is a free search tool, but many of the articles are not free.  Because the library has many scholarly sources that can be found through Google Scholar, we have linked our articles into Google Scholar.  To ensure getting these links, it is a good idea to use the Google Scholar (proxied) link available on the Database List. You may be asked to login with your Marist username and password to use this link.

When the library has access to an article in Google Scholar, it will have a link in the right hand column that says Full-Text @ MaristCollege.  Click on that link to access the full text, not the name of the article.

For those that don't have a Full-Text @ MaristCollege link, there are other options to find full text.  Look at the bottom of the search result listing for a set of double arrows >>

Click on those double arrows and click on the "Request @ MaristCollege" link that appears.  This will provide you with additional ways to access this source, including Interlibrary Loan.

Google Scholar may also offer links to other sources for full text access.  Be careful of using these links as they may provide earlier and unedited versions of articles that did not pass the peer-review or scholarly editing processes.

If you need help with Google Scholar, please contact a librarian.
