My book has multiple publication places, which one do I use for my citation?
Answer
This question has been updated to the 18th edition of Chicago Style and 9th edition of CSE Style. If you are using Chicago 17th edition, see this Library Handout, or Purdue OWL. If you are using CSE 8th edition, see this Library Handout, or Quick Guide.
APA, AMA, ACS, Chicago, CSE, and MLA Styles, do not require you to include a publication place. If a book is published before 1900, Chicago asks you to include a publication place to account for places that have been renamed.
