How do I cite sources that don’t have a date?

Answer

APA style instructs you to use the abbreviation n.d. for no date. 

 

Chicago style instructs you to use the abbreviation n.d. for no date. 

 

MLA style instructs you to leave out the date if it’s not listed. 

 

CSE style instructs you to use [date unknown] to indicate there isn’t a date specified. 

 

AMA style also instructs you to use the term “date unknown” but doesn’t include brackets.
