How do I cite a reading (from a published source and not written by your professor) from Brightspace?

Answer

There are two ways to handle this:

  1. Seek out the original source where it was published, provided you have enough information to find it, and cite the original source according to the citation style’s rules for that source type.
  2. Cite the source using the information that you have available to you in Brightspace and include Brightspace instead of a URL.  Then see the citation style’s directions for citing that type of source.  If you’re uncertain as to what type of source you have, check out the Library’s guide, “What Kind of Source is This?”

If you can’t identify the type of source or don’t have enough information to create a citation, please contact a Librarian or reach out to your professor for help.
