How do I format my paper in MLA style?
Answer
Here are the basic guidelines for formatting a paper in MLA style:
- Include your name, your instructor's name, the course, and the date in the upper left-hand corner of the first page
- Center the title without italics, quotation marks, or underline
- Double-space the text
- Use a font which can be read easily
- Include a cover page
- Page numbers in the header
- 1” Margins
- Your instructor’s guidelines always supersede any of these guidelines
