How to indent just the second lines of citations in Pages (Mac program)?
Answer
Pages does not have a preset to create what is called a “hanging indent,” which only indents the second line of text in a citation. You can make Pages do this by changing some options in format.
To do this:
- Highlight the citations
- Open the format menu by clicking [format paintbrush] on the right hand menu
- Click on Layout in the menu
- Under indents, change first to 0.00 and left 0.5
- This should automatically reformat the text into a hanging indent or click the update button in the top right if it does not.
If these options are not available in your version of Pages, Google how to do a hanging indent in Pages with your version date or number to find instructions specific to your version.
