How do I find the full text of an article from a newspaper or magazine I found in Google?
Answer
If you are looking for the full text of an article you found online, you can check to see if the library has access to it. There are two easy ways to do this:
- Search for the title of the article surrounded by quotation marks in FoxHunt.
Ex: “Do Red Foxes Make Good Pets?”
OR
- If it’s a newspaper article, visit the Library website, click on "Research" in the top menu and click on Newspapers in the drop down that opens. You can check to see if we have the newspaper there and search for the article.
If you do not find it, don’t automatically assume we don’t have it. Oftentimes the titles found on the website for the newspaper or magazine are changed before being placed in library databases. If you would like more help with searching, contact a librarian.
If we don’t have the article, you can request it through the Library’s InterLibrary Loan service: How to request something through InterLibrary Loan (ILL)?
