How do I search for medical case studies?

Answer

There are two library databases, PubMed and CINAHL Complete, where you can search for medical case studies.

PubMed

  1. Search for your topic in PubMed
  2. In the left-hand menu click on “Additional Filters”
  3. Under article type, select “Case Reports”
  4. Click the “Show” button on the bottom right (this will make it appear as an option)
  5. Scroll back up and check off “Case Reports” under “Article Type”

CINAHL Complete

  1. Select “Advanced Search” under the search bar
  2. In the right-hand column, find the menu labeled “Publication Type”
  3. Scroll through the alphabetical list and click on “Case Study”
  4. Then search for your topic in the search bar above

If you need further help, contact a librarian.
