What is a tertiary source?
Answer
Tertiary sources offer a summary of a topic, event or condition and include primary and secondary sources. Indexes that guide users to specific locations within a book or source are also considered tertiary as are reference books.
For more information on tertiary sources and to see examples of them see What is a Tertiary Source? on the Primary, Secondary, & Tertiary Sources guide.
