How do I cite the notes I took in class in Chicago Style?
Answer
This question reflects guidance provided in both the 17th and 18th editions of Chicago Style as no changes were made in the new edition.
Your professor may not require a citation for your notes, but check in with them to be sure.
If that's not possible, Chicago does not require a bibliography entry for class notes, but in a footnote only as a personal communication.
