How do I cite presentation/PowerPoint slides from class in Chicago Style?

Answer

Your professor may or may not require you to cite slides from class, so check with them.

If that's not possible, Chicago recommends citing a presentation as follows:

1. First Name Last Name, “Title of Lecture” (medium, sponsorship, location, Month Day, Year).

1. Anthony Jones, “Origins of Thought” (PowerPoint, Marist College, Poughkeepsie, NY, April 12, 2021).

Bibliography

Last Name, First Name. “Title of Lecture.” Medium at sponsorship, location, Month Day, Year.

Jones, Anthony. “Origins of Thought.” PowerPoint at Marist College, Poughkeepsie, NY, April 12, 2021.

If you don’t have a title for the presentation, you can leave it out. You can also include a URL if it’s an online presentation or PowerPoint.

If you need further help, contact a librarian.
