How do I cite a journal article in ACS Style?
Answer
A few notes about ACS Style
- Journal names are abbreviated
- Use the official abbreviation
- See the library FAQ “How do I abbreviate a journal title for ACS Style?” for more information
- Any DOI numbers that begin with https://doi.org/ should be converted to DOI: 10…..
- The actual DOI will start with 10 and form the rest of the URL after the .org
- ACS Style offers the option to not include article titles, Marist faculty want the article title included
ACS recommends citing a journal article as follows:
1. Author Last Name, First Initial(s).; Author Last Name, First Initial(s). Article Title. Journ. Name. Year, Volume Number (issue number), page range/article number. DOI/URL
