How far in advance do I need to request a session with a librarian?

Answer

It is best to reach out to your subject liaison as early as possible, or as soon as you know you would like to schedule a session. This ensures that the workshop can be scheduled at a time that works well for the assignment, instructor, and library schedule. A minimum of a week in advance is required.

Faculty who wish for more interactive activities, such as worksheets, group work, etc. or lessons that are being created “from scratch” should provide librarians adequate time (ideally more than a week) to prepare and/or collaborate with you on activities and learning goals for the session. It is the librarian’s goal to tailor workshops to a specific subject/topic/assignment, and this requires prep time.

If you need further help, contact a librarian.
